It's been a few months since I've blogged. There are very good reasons for that. I've been busy working on my book, but I've also been pursuing smaller projects, including the publication of an article on Nicholas Biddle and an encyclopedia entry on the Panic of 1837. I will send out updates when they are complete. On top of this, it's a presidential election year and much of my spare time is devoted to checking news stories and polls.
I'm an early-19th century US historian with a specialization in political economy. I have broad interests in political history, economic and business history, the history of capitalism, financial history, histories of media and journalism, and the early American state.
